Tibetan Sand Mandala of Compassion in Cape Town

Posted on October 11, 2013 · Posted in Things to Do

Anyone in Kommetjie interested in helping to put this together:

Tibetan Buddhist monks Ven. Geshe Sangey Thinely, Ven. Geshe Jamyang Sherab and Ven. Karma Gyasey, originally from Sera Monastery in Southern India, and now living in New Zealand, will be visiting Cape Town in February 2014.

We are proposing that the monks create a Chenrezig Sand Mandala, which is intended to spiritually help in the development of Love and Compassion.

The monks can also offer spiritual advice and talks based on Buddhist philosophy.

A Sand Mandala is created out of fine grains of coloured sand…. each mandala can take about 2 weeks to construct.
