Many people come to Kommetjie every year to go fishing and crayfishing, we have a boat club that maintains the boat launch, making Kommetjie a popular destination for recreational fishermen.

The majority of the visitors are fishing for crayfish, this is done either off a boat using a trap net, by diving, or from the shore using a crayfish stick. The crayfish season is open from November to April on certain days.

Fishing is also popular, with a long coastline that boasts many good fishing spots.
