We’d love you to join our Fynforce Kommetjie Port Jackson clearing team — we’re all volunteers helping to keep Kommetjie wild and beautiful
Mostly, we work on pulling out little seedlings and medium-sized ones — it’s easy, satisfying work and we’ll show you everything you need to know. It’s interesting, rewarding, and makes a real difference.
We’re clearing invasive Port Jackson to protect our indigenous fynbos.
YOU NEED:
A sharp knife
Gloves
A little spade
Stout shoes
Loppers or a saw (optional — sometimes not needed)
WE MEET:
Alternate Saturdays at 8 am
And alternate Sundays (summer time TBC)
We usually work for about two hours — but even half an hour helps! Remember, one tree can produce 10 000 seeds a year!
We’re currently focusing on The New Corridor — near the south end of Noordhoek Beach — and we’ll branch out to other areas in Kommetjie as our volunteer base grows.
Meeting point: Klein Slangkop Estate.
Contact Mallorie on 081 364 5871 for a location pin.

KRRA & Fynforce are entirely volunteer-based — we need you! If you can’t make it to the invasive clearing, please consider funding the workers who we hire to help get the job done. Please DM us if you are keen to donate
