Kom local wins Creative Arts Emmy Award

For those of you who haven't heard the exciting news yet, Kommetjie resident Rick Treweek won an award in the Outstanding Emerging Media Program category at the Creative Arts Emmy Award on 5 September.

The award was for Uncanny Alley: A New Day, a theatre production in virtual reality, which Rick's immersive studio Virtual Worlds Company co-created with Los Angeles-based Ferryman Collective.

IMDB describes Uncanny Alley: A New Day as such: "In a world where tech giant Adaptive Learning pushes controversial legislation, digital citizens face an imminent threat as radio waves threaten to erase their memories.”
