A Social Fabric initiative by KRRA

Join us each month as we gather at sunset on Long Beach, meeting at Surfway car park to stroll together under the glow of the full moon — all the way to the Big Log.

Whether it’s a crisp winter night with dramatic clouds and a wild sea (and maybe a brave Bokromspruit River crossing!) or a balmy summer evening with smooth sands and sparkling pools — the walk is always beautiful.

It’s a simple Kommetjie tradition that connects us to each other, the ocean, and the rhythm of the moon.

All ages welcome — bring friends, family, kids, and well-behaved dogs.
No need to book, just come as you are and share the magic. Look out for social media and WhatsApp posts closer to the time.

The KRRA Social Fabric Group runs community-building initiatives like the the full moon beach walk, annual street parties, a book reading group, heritage picnic and other projects that strengthen connection and care across our village.

Upcoming projects include the formation of an adult valley choir and a competition to design artwork for new Kommetjie windsock kite.

If you’d like to get involved or contribute, we’d love to have you!

Join the KRRA volunteer network or donate — every small act keeps Kommetjie thriving.
