Good news, Kommetjie dog lovers! You may have noticed some shiny new black boxes popping up next to our big green council bins. No, they’re not mysterious new birdhouses or secret message drops—they’re Poop Bag Boxes, here to make walks a little cleaner for everyone.

Here’s the scoop (pun intended):

These boxes aren’t for poop—they’re for clean plastic bags. Think old bread bags, veggie packets, or anything a forgetful walker can grab when nature calls and they’ve left their poop bag stash at home.

It’s a simple idea with a big impact:

1. If you’ve got extra clean plastic bags, pop them into any of the five black boxes around town.

2. If you’re out with your furry friend and forgot a bag, grab one from the box.

3. Scoop. Smile. Keep Kommetjie clean.
