Let us know if you're coming to the Kommetjie Heritage Gathering 2026

Find out more about one of Kommetjie’s special natural spaces with KRRA’s Social Fabric team on a guided walking tour of the vlei on Saturday 19 September in celebration of Heritage Day. Everyone is welcome, and the event is free. But please book a free ticket to help with planning.
Meet at the sea end of Arum Avenue (nearest intersection: Kelp Avenue) from 10am, with the walk getting underway at 10.30am.
Over the course of a gentle one-hour stroll, you’ll stop at points of interest to hear from a range of speakers and discover more about the vlei’s natural and cultural heritage – from Leopard toads and Milkwoods to the water tower and the fascinating plant life that makes this area unique.
After the walk, stay for a bring-and-share picnic and enjoy some time getting to know your neighbours. There’ll also be a Treasure Hunt, forming part of the Heritage Day celebrations.
Bring comfortable walking shoes, picnic chairs or blankets, and some food and drinks to share.
Discover the magic of Kommetjie, celebrate our heritage and help weave the social fabric of our community.
Please book by Tuesday 15 September to help with planning.
