Virtual meeting called by Baboon task team

The Cape Peninsula Baboon Management Joint Task Team (CPBMJTT) comprising SANParks, CapeNature, and the City of Cape Town, invites Deep South residents, stakeholders, and interested parties to a virtual meeting to hear about management plans.


The task team will give a presentation on the Cape Peninsula Baboon Strategic Management Plan (CPBSMP) that provides the framework for the sustainable management of the Cape Peninsula’s Chacma baboons, and is to be supported and elaborated upon with area-based solutions developed jointly with affected communities.


Other relevant information will be shared as well, among which:


• Interim guidelines adopted by the CPBMJTT to manage challenges in this space

• Decisions taken to date

• The composition of the Baboon Advisory Group

• Way forward – meetings with affected communities, stakeholders and NGOs; and how to prepare for these meetings
