Youth Day in Ocean View this Sunday

Updated: Jun 21

Ocean View community builder Shamiela Rooi needs help to fund a special streets sports day for Youth Day this Sunday, when she will feed 200 children.

Shamiela will feed the kids after a netball and soccer tournament but requires financial help to buy food such as rolls, hotdogs, sweets, chips, and cooldrinks as well as prizes for tournament winners.

"What would make it a really good day is if I could feed them as normal, which includes a small lunch and a treat. I'm planning to feed about 200 kids so any help will be greatly appreciated."

Please consider making a small monthly contribution to support Shamiela, or make a bigger one-off donation. You can also phone her if you'd like more information, or would like to deliver any alternative food or other items. Call her on 073 195-6481.

Or you can help out the Kom Book Project guys, who say that they will donate fruit worth R2,000 to the community via Shamiela as a healthy contribution.

"The Kom Book Project are supplying R2,000 worth of fruit to the youth day street sports in OV on sunday. Anyone wishing to support this initiative can find us at the flats behind the police station from 10am," says Kom resident Duncan Duffet.
